Any driver or team infringing or breaking will be dealt with in the following manner.
Teesside karting will attempt to run the event in a friendly and sportsmanlike manner and will use warning flag as a means of controlling the event, but reserve the right to penalise teams more severely should they feel it necessary.

Faster drivers are also reminded that a little patience in overtaking is better than a damaged kart and lengthy delays.

Accident damage will be repaired by the Teesside mechanics on a first come first served basis.
DRIVER CHANGING PROCEDURES.
Refuelling and pit stops are an essential dimension of endurance racing. These regulations are for the safety of all those involved and must be strictly adhered to.
Driver changes can only be carried out within the pit area. Drivers may change as frequently as desired. The minimum amount of time in total that a driver must participate is 2 hours 15 minutes. The maximum overall time a driver can amass within the 24 hours is 10 hours.
Team strategy is the sole responsibility of the team ensuring that the rules are complied with at all times.
Karts must be driven at no more than walking pace within the pit area. Speeding in the pits will result in stop go penalties. This is for the safety of all concerned and will be rigorously applied by the Clerk of the course.
On rejoining the circuit from the pits, drivers must be aware of karts on the circuit and only rejoin when it is safe to do so.
REFUELLING PROCEDURE.
It is the Teams responsibility to determine when to refuel. Refuelling will only commence when the driver has vacated the kart. Refuelling will be carried out by the organisers, Once refuelling has taken place the driver should push the kart out of the cordoned off area. Team-mates can then help to push the kart to its designated pit where a driver change can take place. The organisers will supply Chain Lube and the team at every stop should carry out its use.
WEIGHING IN.
Since 2006 we have adopted an average team weight rule to even out the perceived advantage that lightweight teams can have.
At the weigh in all drivers that are registered to race for that team must present themselves to the officials. For the official weigh in . Drivers should be in their race wear together with helmets etc. Spot checks will be made to ensure that no driver is gaining an unfair advantage by carrying any additional weight. The drinking of excessive amounts of liquid to gain an unfair advantage will also be deemed as unsportsmanlike behaviour. Only drivers that intend to race for the team should weigh in.
If agreed the Clerk of the course may disregard the Average team weight rule in the event of complete wet race.
Karts.
All equipment will be supplied by the organisers and will be of an identical specification. Allocation of karts to teams will be done at random. In the unlikely event that any problem is found with the allocated equipment it should be brought to the attention of the mechanics for rectification as soon as possible
Teams are not allowed to change the set up of the karts in anyway this includes tyre pressures. All karts must remain as prepared by the Teesside Mechanics. The mechanics will determine the tyre pressures to be used after establishing a benchmark. It is the team’s responsibility to ensure compliance.
Teesside karting will allow the fitting of an after market seat and steering wheel to the hire kart providing the team has paid a deposit of £100.00. Which is fully refundable providing the original equipment is refitted at race end and before the kart is handed back to the organisers. All stickers and padding must also be removed.
The fitting of a timing system is allowed providing that it is fitted securely and does not involve the drilling of holes in the kart. If in doubt please clarify what you intend doing before fitting.
The fitting of cameras if allowed should be cleared and agreed with the organisers prior to fitting.
No tools will be available to carry out this work
All repairs will be carried out by the mechanics on a first come first served basis.
A service and safety check schedule for all hire karts will be announced depending on conditions on race weekend. This will normally involve the checking of the brakes, oil levels together with replacement of damaged parts should it be deemed necessary. Karts will be brought in by ascending race number and a timed window for this will be announced to the teams. It is the responsibility of the team manager to ensure compliance. Failure of the team to bring the kart in when requested will result in the team being black-flagged in order for the safety checks to be carried out.
In the case of a wet race the clerk of the course/Race organiser will determine if wet tyres are to be supplied and used. When wet tyres are implemented they will be fitted to karts by the Teesside mechanics in order of race position i.e. Leader first down to the last placed team. It is the responsibility of the team manager to determine when to bring their kart in.
