NRG Sprint Series

Posted on 30 January 2020 at 11:37am

The race for the 0 plate is beginning soon! To kick off a new season of racing, we’re having an iron man race on February 29th. This race will be using the international circuit reversed and is only £50 per person. The winner of this race will be given the ‘0’ plate, to be used for all rounds in the season. This race will be the kick off for this years NRG Sprint Series.

Round 1 will consist of two iron man races, heavyweight and lightweight. Heavyweight and Lightweight classes both offer two sub-classes of Pro, Clubmans and Rookies running within the overall championship, with all classes now competing in the same format of 10-minute practice and two 20 minute races. If you're new to karting and haven't competed in the series before you'll need to start in Rookies for your first year.

The championship offers drivers a chance to race in our BIZ JK1 kart fleet. These Karts are 20kg lighter than the standard hire kart and have been fitted with new T2 GX160 engines, which means faster lap times and closer racing. Teesside Karting has 43 such karts, the championship will use a maximum of 35 per class, allowing for spares

The championship is open to anyone 16 years and over. It is currently the North of England’s leading hire-kart sprint series, allowing new and experienced drivers the opportunity to compete in a low-cost, competitive championship, without need for capital outlay.
